1795 (24 Apr.) entire letter from Langford Lovell to Christopher Bethell in London, rated "1/-" and showing fair "antigua" handstamp (Proud Type PS12) with arrival datestamp (1.7) on reverse. The writer mentions one account from Grenada and St. Vincent are unpleasant and disagreeable for in the former our troops have gained but little advantage over the Caribs, and in the latter our troops have been repulsed by the insurgents with considerable loss, in an attack made upon their fortified camp and obliged to retire to Richmond Fort and town of St. George.
