A Victorian leather and brass post bag, with brass plate, inscribed Sir Rd. Sutton Bart/Cottesmore/Rutland. A very rare example of a provenanced post bag with original straps, and in fine condition. Photo
Sir Richard Sutton (1798-1855), second Baronet, Sportsman, removed his hunting establishment to Cottesmore Park in Rutland, where he hunted for five seasons until 1848. He became one of the wealthiest men in England.
