Janet McAllister McGill MD MB MRCS LRCP was born 26 April 1894 in Falmouth, Cornwall, the daughter of a naval architect. She enrolled at the North London Collegiate School in May 1909 before entering higher Medical Studies at the University of London. The bestowal of this University award at the summation of her Master's degree is confirmed in the Lancet (Volume 201, December 1921, pp. 1396), which along with the Official Medical Register confirms her roles variously as Medical Officer for Balham Infant Welfare Centre alongside General Practioning until her death in 1957.
