Clarence William Porter was born 10 August 1888 in Prestwich, Lancashire, and by the time of the 1911 Census, lists his professional occupation as 'Architect'. He died in Staffordshire in 1946. Other recipients of this award include 20th Century artist Henry Clarence Whaite (1895-1978)
