1670-1790 a varied group of printed receipts, from the Tally Court or one of the Four Tellers of His Majesty's Receipt of Exchequer and includes various Revenue of Excise payments, interest payment for loan agreement "... towards carrying on a Vigorous War againft France and signed by Viscount "Dursley" (later Vice-Admiral James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley), "Subfidies, &c", Marquess of "Carmarthen" (Duke of Leeds was a title in the Peerage of England. It was created in 1694 for the prominent statesman Thomas Osborne, 1st Marquess of Carmarthen), Lottery ticket receipts, Land Tax dated 1718 and signed by Sir Richard Cust, Tonnage, Survivorship (2) one signed by Henry Earl of Bradford, Record signed by Henry Temple, 1st Viscount "Palmerston", Pensions (4) with three bearing embossed revenue impressions, the final one dated 1790 signed by Thomas Coutts for The Earl of Rockfork. Condition is a little mixed around edges, a good group. (19)
