" ... gave a receipt to ye chamberline of London for six hundred and three score pounds being so much alotted to ye said ward out of three thousands pounds part of ye money that was come in for ye releife of ye poore that suffered by ye late dreadfull fire. Sir John Moore (1620 – 1702) was the Member of Parliament for the City of London from 15 May 1685 to 9 January 1687 and Lord Mayor of London, 1681-82. He became a merchant in London, was active in the lead business, then in trade with East India, and became Master of the Grocer's Company. He was a leading figure in the rebuilding after the Fire of London and supplied most of the lead for the roof of St. Paul's when it was rebuilt.
