Thomas Moyle was born at Market Drayton, Salop in 1895 and enlisted in the Royal Fusiliers in September 1914. Quickly appointed to a commission, he arrived in France on 14 November 1915, where he served in 20th Battalion. He was subsequently wounded at La Bassee on 12 March 1916, when hit in his left eye by a shell fragment: he was evacuated home and treated at Mrs. Burn's Hospital for Officers at Stoodley Knowle, Torquay, Having then rejoined his battalion on the Somme, Moyle was hit by a bullet in the right thigh on 21 November 1916, the serious nature of his wound occasioning his discharge in July 1917; sold with copied service records and MIC.
