Benjamin Richard Minchin was embarked for France in the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards in early November 1915 and was killed in action on 15 September 1916, aged 22. The son of Henry and Ellen Minchin of Burton-on-Trent, his name is commemorated in the Guards' Cemetery at Lesboeufs.
Charles Leslie Minchin, Benjamin's brother, served as a Signaller in the Royal Field Artillery.
