The following six lots were presented to James Hamilton Esq. on the eve of the amalgamation of the states' postal departments into a federal department.

1901 Federal Presentation Set of twenty stamps and postal stationery cards (2), letter card and registered envelope as presented to Federal Parliamentarians, the stamps comprise Sideface 3d., 8d., 9d. and 10d., Keyplate ½d., 2½d., 5d., 6d., 10d., 1/-, 2/6d. and 5/-, and Pictorial ½d. to 6d., all cancelled to order with "hobart/tasmania" c.d.s.; also the letter from the Post and Telegraph Department that accompanied these items
