The following six lots were presented to James Hamilton Esq. on the eve of the amalgamation of the states' postal departments into a federal department.

1901 Federal Presentation Set of sixteen stamps plus postal stationery cards (2) and wrappers (3) as presented to Federal Parliamentarians, the stamps comprise watermark Crown over SA (close) perf 13 ½d., 1d., 2d., 2½d., 3d., 4d. 5d., 6d. De La Rue designs, watermark Broad Star perf 11½-12½ 9d., 1/-, 2/- Perkins Bacon designs, and watermark Crown over SA (wide) perf 11½-12½ Postage & Revenue 2/6d., 5/-, 10/- and £1, all except the 1/- cancelled with Adelaide single-ring or double-ring datestamps; also the letters and envelope from the General Post Office, Adelaide in which they were sent
