(x) 1901 Federal Presentation Stamps and Postal Stationery
The following six lots were presented to James Hamilton Esq. on the eve of the amalgamation of the states' postal departments into a federal department.
Queensland
1901 Federal Presentation set of fourteen stamps as presented to Federal Parliamentarians comprising 1895 watermark Crown over Q (II) 2/6d., 5/-, 10/- and £1, 1897-98 1d., 2d., 2½d. purple on blue, 3d., 4d., 5d., 6d., 1/- and 2/-, and 1899 ½d., all cancelled with part "brisbane/t.c." (Telegraph Counter) c.d.s., also postal stationery postcards (4), letter card and wrappers (2), and Revenue Impressed Duty 3d. to £100 set of sixty-three and Stamp Duty 1892 3d. to £5 set of ten and 1899 1d., all with embossed handstamp; also the letters from the Post and Telegraph Department that accompanied the sending of these issues
