In 1870, Andreas Leykam changed his papermill into an Aktiengesesllschaft. It soon became one of the largest paper- and cellulose producers in the Monarchy. The majority shareholder was the Creditanstalt-Bankverein. It sold its participation in 1988 to Koninklijke Nederlandse Papierfabrieken. Today part of the Finnish Sappi Group.
