3 Candareens, Incoming Mail
1882 (21 June) envelope from Tokyo to the Japanese Legation in Peking bearing 3ca. deep red [18] tied by Tientsin seal type B with Tokyo c.d.s. at left, the sender's seal in orange-vermilion and straight-line handstamp in red alongside the adhesive; the reverse with "customs/tientsin"(4.7) c.d.s.; unfortunately the Japanese adhesives have been cut off. Shows the address handstamp struck in red

This is the only recorded incoming Japanese-Chinese combination. Additionally, incoming covers with Large Dragon stamps affixed in Tientsin are rare; James Whang recorded only two such covers
