Auction: 160 - The Henry "Hap" Pattiz Collection of Nepal
Lot: 2103
Hellrigl #12 var., a var., 1889-98 2a Violet, later printings on native paper of good quality, double pin-perforated, complete sheet of 64, setting 9, unused without gum as issued, a similar sheet to the previous with all of the same defining features including the ten inverted cliches and the very rare "ragged cliche" plate flaw, sheet margins show all the sheet framelines, attractive violet color on fresh thin paper of fairly good quality despite its later period, light vert. and horiz. folds in the center of the sheet, the stamps are remarkably well centered overall within the perforations which are virtually all double though often so close together to be barely perceptible, very fine for this extremely rare sheet; while normally issued imperforate some of the middle to later printings are known perforated such as this; either way this is an exceptionally rare full sheet being one of only two known sheets, the other imperforate (see lot above); (Scott #8, a; $3,650.00+; S.G. #11; a; £3,004+).
