Comprehensive mint and unused collection housed in Scott National album, this collection has an impressive appearance as it contains hundreds of different that starts from the early 1851 imperforates and goes to the 1940s, the nineteenth century contains over 150 stamps that all look unused, these have required careful evaluation because there are some that have faint or removed cancels which have been counted as used, but there are a number of better stamps that are truly unused such as a 5c Red brown (#12, small faults) accompanied by 2000 PSE certificate, many of the better unused in the early period are without gum or regummed but those with o.g are present starting early with a #11A, the first perforated 1857-61 issue has seven different mint or unused plus several that are counted as used, the Civil War issue is similarly represented including some "E" and "F" grilled values, there are 1869 Pictorials as well as five re-issues including a 90c Carmine and black (#132), the Bank Notes are very comprehensive starting with a couple of grilled values and going to the late issues of the 1890s with original gum becoming more prevalent, Columbians are complete, Bureau issues lack only a few for completion but include most of the dollar values including the two $5.00 values, Trans-Mississippis are complete to the 50c, 1902-03 Regular issues are complete as well, there is a very extensive section of Washington-Franklin issues representing all the different watermarks and perforations including some better coil singles and pairs not counting some fakes, the later regular issues from the 1922-34 issues to the 1938 Presidentials are essentially complete including coils and including some of the better varieties and coil waste issues, commemoratives of the 20th century are essentially complete, air mails are complete to 1947 lacking only the 1930 Zeppelins, special deliveries are also complete and postage dues are very extensive with some better values such as a never hinged 50c Bright claret (#J28) and a never hinged 2c Vermilion (#J30), parcel posts are complete and Offices in China lacks only #K11, condition is mixed, faults are to be expected in the 19th century though most have fine or better appearance, the 20th century is largely with o.g. and there are even some never hinged found throughout , most are fine or better; this is an important collection with many scarce stamps and warrants careful examination; conservative Scott catalog value is in excess of $125,000.00.
