Lot: 498

Extensive used collection to the 1940s that is noteworthy for its exceptionally strong 19th century period, housed in a Scott National album and starting with the first issue complete (#1-2), continuing on with seven of the 1851 imperforates and sixteen values of the 1857-61 perforated issue, the Civil War issue is extensive with a #62B, the 1867 grilled issues are especially interesting with 3c Rose "D" grill (#85) and a 2c Black and 12c Black with "Z" grills (#85B, 85E), the "E grills are complete and the "F" grills are complete less the 10c value but including two each of the 30c Orange and 90c Blue high values, the 1869 Pictorials are complete, Bank Notes are also comprehensive with seven different grilled values including 1c, 2c and 3c values with "I" grills (#134A-136A) and a 90c Carmine (#144), from there the collection is very comprehensive with Columbians complete less the 50c value, Bureau issues are mostly complete but in the dollar values several duplicate the watermarked issue, Trans-Mississippis are complete, and very comprehensive through the 20th century for both the regular issues and commemoratives, unfortunately a fair number of the flat plate coils of the Washington-Franklin issues are not counted because they are not genuine, air posts are complete less the 1930 Zeppelins, special deliveries are complete and there is a nice section of postage dues as well as other back-of-the book issues including revenues, condition varies, in the 19th century most are of fine-very fine appearance but faults are present, the same is true for the 20th century but there are many more that are truly fine-very fine; an excellent collection for the used collector with many scarce stamps present; total Scott catalog value is over $70,000.00.
