Charles II (1660-85), Crown, 1673, carolvs. ii. - dei. gratia, third, larger, laureate and draped bust right, hair ties both straight, rev. inverted die axis, mag. br. fra. et. hib. rex., four crowned shields cruciform, the shields of England and France separate, eight strings to Irish harp, interlinked Cs in angles, Garter Star in centre, edge with upright raised letters, .*. decvs. et. tvtamen. anno..regni. vicesimo. qvinto* (ESC 47; MCE 675; S.3358), a most attractive and sharply struck piece, a small die flaw above king's head, otherwise good extremely fine, very rare in this superb condition
