1867 (2 Oct.) entire letter from Penang to Calcutta, bearing 3c. on 1a. deep brown cancelled in manuscript and clearly tied by "147" duplex and showing, on reverse, fine arrival Ship Letter d.s. (8.10) in blue; the entire with portions of writing on address panel acid-eaten. A very rare single rate franking and the only known cover from Penang to India. Photo
