1867 (24 Oct.) entire letter from Penang to Colombo, Ceylon, marked "Via Point de Galle", bearing 12c. on 4a. green tied by blue firm's chop and "147" duplex, showing manuscript "1d" and red crayon "4", "colombo/unpaid" arrival c.d.s. (3.11) with, on reverse, "galle/unpaid" transit c.d.s.; some minor staining around adhesive. A rare franking and one of two covers known to Ceylon, the other is from Singapore. Photo
