Harold I (1035-40), Penny, 1.07g, Jewel cross type, Thetford, Leofwine, diademed bust left, rev. +leofpine on Ðeod:, central pellet from which extend four lobes cruciform linked at base (SCBI 18 Copenhagen, No 560 - same dies; N.802; S.1163), some die clogging on obverse and a little on reverse, flan very mildly bowed, otherwise this piece is exceptional and sharp with much underlying lustre, mirror-like fields, toned, centred and in the highest quality silver, extremely fine, this piece with much eye appeal
