Hiberno-Norse Vikings, early period, 919-25, Penny, 1.02g, St Peter sword type, scipe / t[]rimo in two lines, divided by sword placed horizontally across field, pommel to the left, cross flanked by pellets above legend and trefoil of pellets at tip of sword, letter i in legend represented by an inverted voided mallet, rev. [+e]borace[i], cross pattée with pellets in angles within inner circle, crescent in field (Blackburn II, p.38; N.555; S.1014), sadly bent to test metal quality resulting in fragmentation, c.80% of coin remaining, extremely fine and lustrous

It is unusual for the contraction mark to be omitted from the obverse legend
