Hiberno-Norse Vikings, early period, 919-25, Penny, 0.66g, St Peter sword type, s[c]i¯pe / triii[o] in two lines, divided by sword placed horizontally across field, pommel to the left, trefoil of annulets at tip of sword and dispersed in field, letter i in legend represented by an inverted voided mallet, rev. [+e]roeacen trefoil of annulets at end of legend, cross pattée with pellets in angles within inner circle (Blackburn II, p.38; N.555; S.1014), again bent for metal testing, fractured and with c.60% of the flan intact but, of course fragile, the original coin extremely fine
