Hiberno-Norse Vikings, early period, 919-25, Penny, 1.06g, St Peter sword type, sci¯pe / triiio in two lines, divided by sword placed horizontally across field, pommel to the left, cross above legend and at tip of sword, letter i in legend represented by an inverted voided mallet, rev. +eboracei divided by annulet between each letter, cross pattée with pellets in angles within inner circle (Blackburn II, p.38; N.555; S.1014), die flaws evident as usual for this coinage, slightly short of flan at top of obverse, some areas of lustre and generally smooth surfaces, nearly extremely fine
