#15, 1859 5c Vermilion, precancelled with five vertical bars, small faults, affixed to cover to South Monasshan, C.W., partially clear "Mill-brook, C.W./No 16, 66" datestamp and faint red backstamp, reduce a bit irregularly at right, otherwise fine; the only recorded example of this pre-cancel on cover and one of the most important items for the Canada pre-cancel collector; the Mill-brook Postmaster cancelled sheets of the 5c Beaver in advance and placed them on letters as they were brought in, the Bellville Postmaster also followed this procedure.
