54th Bengal Native Infantry
A very scarce and fine quality example the gilt back plate with silver and gilt mounts, comprising a crowned circular strap 'Regiment' enclosing floreate numerals '54' upon a domed ground, laurel sprays around the strap, complete with original leather liner, c.1824-1845, excellent condition

The regiment was awarded the honour Ferozeshah in 1845; it mutinied at Delhi in 1857.
