51st Bengal Native Infantry
A fine quality and very scarce example the gilt back plate with silver mounts comprising a crowned circular strap ' Bengal Nat Infantry' enclosing '51' on a domed ground, attendant laurel sprays and a scroll below 'Punniar Punjab', c.1850-1855, one hook fastener slightly distorted otherwise excellent condition

The regiment was disarmed at Peshawar in 1857.
