21st Madras Native Infantry
A very scarce and fine quality example, the gilt back plate with silver and gilt mounts, comprising a silver multi-rayed facetted star with gilt overlays, laurel sprays, a crowned circle 'Regiment' and 'Seringapatam' enclosing '21' upon a domed ground, at the base of the laurel sprays a scroll 'Nagpoor', complete with original leather liner, this with ink inscription '21st Madras Native Infantry', c.1824-1855, excellent condition
