The (King's Own) 2nd Staffordshire (Light Infantry) Militia
A very fine and scarce example the silver plated back plate with silver and gilt mounts, comprising a multi-rayed beaded star with gilt overlay of a crowned circular strap 'King's Own 2nd Staffordshire Militia', in the centre on a domed ground the Round Tower of Windsor Castle, below the strap a strung bugle with the Knot Simpliciter within the strings, complete with original leather liner, 1853-1855, excellent condition
This regiment was raised only in 1853 so this was the only pattern of plate worn by the Officers.
