Oxfordshire Militia
An extremely fine and rare example gilt back plate bearing silver mounts comprising the full achievement of Arms for the City of Oxford over a floreate scroll 'Oxford Militia', complete with original leather liner, c.1820-1833, the tail of the supporter elephant lacking the finial from its tail otherwise very fine condition

This pattern most probably followed the engraved oval gilt type, again with the full arms of Oxford.
