A fine quality example the gilt back plate with silver mounts, comprising the crown over a scroll 'Waterloo' over a circle bearing the Thistle motto and enclosing '42' with attendant thistle sprays, below the circle St. Andrew and his Cross over battle honour scrolls, 'Corunna Toulouse Peninsula' over small laurel sprays, the Sphinx/Egypt honour rests on a scroll, 'Royal Highlanders', c.1820-1845 (Parkyn 343), excellent condition
