Newfoundland Airmails 1930 (Oct.) "Miss Columbia" On October 9 1930 the "Miss Columbia" took off from Harbour Grace and after covering 2,650 miles was forced down on the beach at Tresco Island in the Scilly Isles Envelope addressed to Manchester, marked "By Air Mail ´Columbia´, Via Harbour Grace", bearing 15c. pair and 20c. tied by Harbour Grace c.d.s. of 9th October with another clearer strike alongside.
