Newfoundland Airmails 1930 (Oct.) "Miss Columbia" On October 9 1930 the "Miss Columbia" took off from Harbour Grace and after covering 2,650 miles was forced down on the beach at Tresco Island in the Scilly Isles Envelope addressed to London, marked "Trans Atlantic Air Mail, Harbour Grace - London, Airplane Columbia", bearing 4c. tied by Harbour Grace c.d.s. of 9th October, showing another strike in opposite corner and signed by the pilots, Connor and Boyd.
