Connecticut Warrant 1768. Warrant issued to and signed by Jonathan Trumbull (1710-1785). 50 Pounds. October 1768. DS.For salary as Governor of the Colony of Connecticut for the last half of 1768. Signed by George Wyllys, Secretary, and on the verso by Jonathan Trumbull who writes "1769, Jan´y, 28th - Rec. of treas -Lawrence- The Contents" and signs "Jon Trumbull." Trumbul was a vigorous supporter of the Colonial cause during the Revolution. He was influential in assuring that the Connecticut industry helped supply the Continetal Army with food and munitions. Washington, who called him "Brother Jonathan," often consulted Trumbull and kept him apprised of the Army´s needs. RF. Estimate US$ 250-500
