Treasury of the United States (USA) June 1, 1792. #4296. $10,000. 6% Bond. Issued to Daniel Crommelin & Sons of Amsterdam, Merchants. Secretarially signed by Joseph Nourse and signed and notarized on the second page by Clement Biddle, a former aid to George Washington. Interestingly, Crommelin and his associates were partners of Robert Morris in his attempt to control all of the D.C. land which was to be the new capital and thus drive up prices. When the high prices did not materialize, Morris and Crommelin defaulted on their mortgages and were foreclosed. Scarce form and issued to a foreign investor. VF+. Estimate US$ 400-800
