Northern Nigeria 1912 (28 July) envelope to France sent from Zinder/Niger via Kano from Corporal Fouque in charge of boot repair, bearing Northern Nigeria 1910 1/2d. and 1d. vertical pair, both tied by "kano northern nigeria" double-ring d.s. and showing Toulon arrival d.s. on reverse. Rare. Photo Estimate £ 250-300 Note: Niger at this time was under French Military Administration with a very primitive communications system. This letter would have been carried by a camel train/runner to Kano. Northern Nigeria stamps are known applied in Niger.
