Northern Nigeria West African Frontier Force 1901 (10 Nov.) envelope (with original contents) from Lt. Wilkin to his step-brother in Devon, marked "No stamps obtainable", showing "northern nigeria" c.d.s. with another strike on reverse, manuscript "Ibi 18 11 01" in violet ink, blue crayon "T", "1d/620" h.s. and Southampton transit c.d.s. The letter was written from Wase, north of Amar which was on the River Benue in the old Province of Muri. He speaks of the fact that there are no farm houses in the country but all the farmers live in the villages or towns fortified by walls. Photo Estimate £ 500-600
