Uruguay1868-72, 15c. yellow, Montevideo Printing, a vertical third used as 5c. franking on front of 5c. blue postal stationery envelope. The cover, addressed to Montevideo, was initially misdirected to Rocha with Montevideo transit (19.7.1870), having been the addressee's surname "Rocha" mistaken for the name of the Rocha city, thence franked with third of 15 c. value paying the single rate up to 4 "adarmes" tied by double oval and forwarded to Montevideo, with double oval of Colonia as transit and Montevideo cds (5.8.1870) alongside. Illustrated in the "Uruguay Filatélico" of 1939. Postal stationery envelopes with additional franking are very scarce, this being unique thus, further enhanced by being one of only two examples of a trisect stamp on cover.
