Entire letter from La Ferté-sous-Jouarre to the Consul of France in Quito (Ecuador), correctly franked for the single rate up to 7,5 grams via Panama, with three examples of 1853 40c., tied by dotted lozenges of the Strasbourg-Paris T.P.O., alongside with matching c.d.s., framed "P.P.", "PD" struck in error, carried via London by British packets in the Atlantic and the Pacific, with British double-arc datestamp of Panama.
