Double weight cover from London to Bogotá, franked by 1856 1s. marginal pair paying up to 1 oz to a Colombian port, tied by "1" numeral handstamps on dispatch, embarked on the "Seine" at Southampton to St. Thomas, to be placed on board the "Tamar" sailing to Santa Marta, where the framed "De Ultramar", "Cartagena./Debe." oval and "1" due marking for 10 centavos (not exceeding 10 grams) were handstamped. In this case, the British and Colombian rates did not match. A delightful and rare cover. S.G. 73.
