CubaOutgoing Mail1796, Sept. 3. Cover front of ship's register of the "La Divina Pastora" brigantine, carrying goods from Havana to Santander (Spain), doubly postmarked by elusive "Havana/Franco" oval (P.E. 15) and two-line "Islas De/Barlovento" (P.E. 31) markings in red. Datelined in one incomplete flap on reverse. Wrinkles, and slight soiling as usually encountered. The earliest ship's register cover known carried from Cuba to Spain; in addition, one of two items recorded with this combination of postmarks. Ex Kouri.
