ColombiaStampless MailSpanish Colonial Period1620, Feb. 20. Cover from Vélez to Tunja, showing large part of the contents "a (sic) de traerme yndigena de montes..." which are signed and dated inside by the sender. In this period paper was scarce and most of the mail forwarded was official or legal, being carried by "Chasquis" (high-trained native runners who were illiterate, so not being able to read the contents of the mails).
