Coro-La Vela Local Post. 1889, "Correo del Comercio/Entre Coro y La Vela", "Porte Libre" black on yellow, large balanced margins all round, with "Anotada/Correo Del/Komercio" three-line handstamp in violet, denoting the private postal service between Coro and La Vela, on January 20 1890 envelope to New York, carried by sea from La Vela to Curaçao, where the next portion of the journey to New York was paid by Curaçao 1873 25c. yellowish brown, which covered the single weight up to 15 gr., tied by Curaçao c.d.s. in dark violet. Vertical crease at right and tear in centre, but mended on the reverse with paper tape, and portion of paper missing on back, barely detracting from this extremely rare and fascinating usage. One of only six covers recorded bearing a "Palomita" adhesive. Ex Borromeo D'Adda.
