1876, Aug. 28. Entire letter from Port-au-Prince to Bordeaux, paying the single rate with 1870 40c. orange and 1875 10c. brown on rose, each represented with one pair tied by "Le-Port-au-Prince" consular datestamp (Salles fig. 1367), showing neat "Port-au-Prince/Paq. Fr. D. N°2" (Salles fig. 1495, not being recorded applied on front of franked mail) applied in blue alongside. Carried by the "Guadeloupe". Slight crease passing through one 10c. adhesive, of little significance. Mail originating from Port-au-Prince is rare. Signed Calves. Maury 38, 54.
