Photographie des Couleurs. 10 Parts Bénéficiaires, Paris, Janvier 1899. #15211-20. This company was established in 1898 by the French portrait painter M. Dugardin to exploit his patent on using photography to produce coloured portrait and reproductions of paintings. This beautiful share was created by the French poster artist, cartoonist and illustrator Lucien Metivet (1863-1932). He achieved notoriety during the Belle Epoque and is best known for his 1893 poster of the chanteuse Eugénie Buffet (bottom right, printing plated signed by Lucien Metivet). Nicely structured colourful item with allegories, photo cameras and drawings. Vignette of the inventors of photography, Nicéphore Niépce (1765-1833), and of the daguerreotypie, Louis Jacques Daguerre (1787-1851) and coat of arms of the city of Paris. Signed by M. Dugardin as Un Admisitrateur. Top left some small needle holes and fold. VF.
