1873, July 31. Entire letter from Galati to Jaffa (Palestine), underfranked bearing, instead of the 50 bani correct postage, 15b. venetian red. Although being incorrectly franked, the framed "P.D." was mistakenly applied on dispatch, being subsequently overstruck by one of two "Affranchissement/Insuffisant" two-lines strikes indicating insufficiency of postage. Despite faults to cover and adhesive, a captivating and most unusual usage for the specialist of this issue. Mi. 40.
