1863, Sept 10. Entire letter to Patras (Greece), franked by 1d. red, 2d. blue, small letters 3d. rose and 9d. straw (two short perfs. at top), tied by London "12" oval numerals (used on late fee letters). Part of the franking covers the "via Marseilles" endorsement on front, very probably with the purpose of changing the route and consequently prepaying the via Belgium and Trieste with 1s. plus 6d. late fee per 1/4 oz. A very rare and interesting franking. S.G. 40, 45, 76, 87.
