1845, 180 r. black, yellowish paper, fine impression, vertical pair, slightly cut into at bottom left and touching at top, otherwise good margins, used on piece with 30r black, type II, vertical pair which is defective and repaired at top, with margin reduced at right, tied by ''Correio Geral Da Corte'' cds dated 24 January 1849. An extremely difficult and desirable franking demonstrating a very high rate, including a very scarce used multiple of the 180 r. of which only about five are believed to exist. Cert. Moorhouse.
