1881. Cover to Paris, franked by 1874 1r. with ''Contra Sello'' handstamp in combination with 1879 1c. and 5c. (2), tied by blue target cross types with ''Correos de San Salvador'' cds at left also in blue, also showing ''Pasó el Correo'' straight-line and French entry on front. Panama transit backstamp (the UPU rate to France via Panama was 11 c. thus this cover was overpaid 1c.). Tear at top of cover extends from left of 1 c. adhesive to edge of upper 5 c. stamp, nevertheless a very rare mixed franking with cert. Moorhouse; also 1889 10p. postal stationery envelope from La Libertad to Paris, up-rated with 1879 1c. cancelled by star type with New York transit. Scott 10, 13, 15. Ex Hennan.
