1876, May. Acknowledgment of receipt of registered mail from Paranaguá to Voltareggio (Italy), franked 1866 10r. pair and 50r., tied by cork cancels. The reverse face shows manuscript receipted docket with Voltareggio cds, being subsequently redirected to Brazil, with Rio de Janeiro cds on front exhibiting the 10r. pair cancelled, once more, by a different dumb type cancel. This system already in use previously was finally officialized through the Decree of 28.4.1880. According to the Brazil-Italy Convention of September 9 1863, the sender had the option to send registered mail with advise of delivery, paying a further postage fee of 70r. Slight overall soiling and faint vertical crease through 50 r. value, in no way detracting from this rarity.
