1921, "(Hand) Vaolr 10 centavos (Hand)" on 50c. pale green, exhibiting "Vaolr" variety, vertical strip of three and single, and first issue 50c. pale green, thus paying the four-times rate from the interior to the coast on large envelope to Barranquilla dated 2.11.1921, cancelled by blue "Sociedad Colombo-Alemana/Correos Aéreos/Girardot", with its corresponding national postage fee being paid by 3c. (4), tied by Barranquilla datestamp. Some minor imperfections do not detract from the rarity. 400 stamps were surcharged and only nine covers have so far survived bearing this stamp, this belonging to the more restricted and valuable group of three items not addressed to Behr-Heyder; this cover also exhibits the second largest multiple of this provisional stamp.
